Group wishes: keep matching until your group is full
Post a wish for two to twenty people, or leave it open, and keep meeting matches until the spots fill.
Until now, a wish closed as soon as it made its first introduction. You can now post a group wish when you are looking for more than one person, such as three people for a morning run or an open table for dinner. Your wish stays active and keeps matching until every spot is taken or the wish expires.
How it works
When you tell Hyv what you are looking for, you can ask for a specific number of people, from two up to twenty, or ask to leave the group open. Before your wish goes out, the confirmation card shows the group size and reminds you that only you see who joined.
As matches come in, each person gets a normal one-to-one offer and introduction with you. Nothing about the rest of the group is shared with them. You can ask Hyv who is in at any time inside your private chat.
When the last spot fills, your wish closes and Hyv sends you a single roster with everyone who joined. If the wish expires before every spot is taken, you still get the roster of everyone who joined so far. You only get a notice that nobody matched if the wish expires with zero joiners. Open groups keep taking matches until the wish expires, up to a quiet safety ceiling of fifty people.
Privacy and limits
- Joiners only meet you: People who join your wish agreed to meet you, not each other. They are never shown other joiners' names, and Hyv does not introduce joiners to one another.
- Hard cap on spots: Once the final spot is taken, anyone else who accepts an earlier offer is told that the group filled up. Their card is retired and no names are disclosed.
- Private chat only for names: If you ask about your wishes in a shared chat, Hyv only reports the count of people who joined, never their names.
- Fixed size once published: To change the headcount on an active group wish, you must withdraw it and publish a new one.
- Best-effort full notice: If a group fills before someone replies, the message letting them know it filled up is sent once and not retried if delivery fails.
Where it is today
Group wishes are built, tested and live for all members. You can use them today by asking Hyv to look for a specific number of people or an open group when you make a wish.
Private by default. Consent before people. Restraint before action.
