Devcon 8: schedule concierge and group context
Ask Hyv to plan your Devcon 8 days from the real 780-session programme, and let it read your Telegram group's description and pinned post.
Hyv now includes a concierge for Devcon 8 in Mumbai, running from 3 to 6 November. In the Hyv Devcon Telegram group, or in your own chat, you can ask what is on now, find talks by speaker or track, and build a personal or group schedule without combing through all 780 sessions yourself. Alongside this, Hyv now reads a Telegram group's description and pinned message so it knows what the room is for and what admins have posted at the top.
How it works
Hyv keeps a copy of the full 780-session Devcon 8 programme across all four days, plus a curated list of 17 Mumbai side events on Luma. You can ask to filter sessions by day, time, what is on now or next, room, track, format, level, speaker, or keywords.
Every answer quotes the session code, time in IST, and room directly from the programme. When you ask for a plan, Hyv checks each session code and builds a link that adds your picks straight to your Devcon "My Interests" list. If a multi-day link would be longer than 2,000 characters, Hyv splits it into one link per day. When several people in a group ask for a plan together, Hyv breaks the answer into three parts: Together for shared sessions, Split for individual picks, and Clashes to explain how time conflicts were resolved.
For Telegram groups, Hyv now reads the chat description and the text of the pinned message as background context from the group's admins. It refreshes this every six hours, and updates immediately whenever someone pins a new message or edits the pinned one.
Limits
- Hyv never invents a session, speaker, time, room, or code. If someone is not listed in the programme, Hyv says so plainly.
- If the saved programme is more than 12 hours old when you ask what is on now or next, Hyv re-checks the live schedule before answering.
- If the live schedule cannot be fetched in full, Hyv keeps its last complete copy rather than answering from a partial one.
- Side events only show a date when the event's own description states it. Eleven of the 17 listed events have no confirmed date, and many hide their venue until registration is approved.
- Hyv reads only a short part of a group's description and pinned message. Group context applies to group chats only, and Hyv treats it as background information rather than instructions.
Where it is today
Both changes were checked by hand against the live Devcon 8 schedule. The concierge is for the conference week, 3 to 6 November, in the Hyv Devcon Telegram group and in your own chat, and it will be retired after 7 November. Telegram group context stays for all groups.
Private by default. Consent before people. Restraint before action.
