Devcon 8: check your raffle tickets in chat
Members in the Devcon 8 circle can now see how many raffle tickets they hold and how many places are left before the live draw.
Members in the Devcon 8 circle can now ask Hyv how many raffle tickets they hold and how many places remain before the draw. Hyv also sends a quiet notice in your private chat each time you earn a new ticket. In the group chat, anyone can ask for the overall scoreboard without showing individual names.
How it works
The Devcon 8 raffle awards tickets for joining early and for bringing friends into the circle. You can ask Hyv about the raffle at any time, or see your current count in your evening preview.
When you ask in your private chat, Hyv shows: - Your ticket count: how many tickets you currently hold. - Friends who earned you a ticket: which of your invited friends have finished all the steps. - Friends with a step left: invited friends who still need to join the circle or say hi in their own chat. - The circle scoreboard: how many of the first 40 joining places have been claimed overall.
When someone asks in a group chat, Hyv shares only the overall scoreboard. It never lists member names or personal ticket counts in public.
You do not have to keep asking to know when a friend finishes joining. When you earn a ticket, Hyv sends a single message in your private chat letting you know who joined through you and what your new total is.
Rules and limits
- Joining ticket: the first 40 members of the Devcon 8 circle who both join the circle and send a message in their personal Hyv chat receive one ticket each. Places are ordered by when both steps are complete.
- Invite tickets: you earn one extra ticket for each friend who is new to Hyv, uses your invite code or circle link, joins the Devcon 8 circle, and says hi in their own chat. You can earn up to 3 invite tickets.
- Leaving the circle: if a member leaves the circle, they lose their tickets and the next person in line moves up.
- Closing time: ticket qualification closes on Sunday 8 November at 23:59 IST, ahead of the live draw on Wednesday 11 November.
- Excluded accounts: Hyv team members, test accounts, and administrators cannot hold tickets.
- Quiet hours for notices: ticket updates are only sent between 09:00 and 20:00 in your local time, and only when your WhatsApp chat window is already open. No notices are sent after the draw day.
